Xiaomi Confirms of Redmi K30 with 5G in 2020
The Redmi K30 is expected to come into the market in 2020 as per the official confirmation of Xiaomi. Redmi GM Lu Weibing denied earlier rumors of a December launch for the K30 by writing a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo.
Athough in Weibing’s post it is not indicated about the K30 launch. This post talks about China Mobile’s 4G hotspot tests several of Xiaomi phones were identified for being the fastest.
As per the Xiaomi executive, Redmi phones will vie for the best quality in the early 5G era. He states the Redmi K30 series at the end of his post which, roughly translated, reads: “In 2020, Redmi is a 5G pioneer. See you at K30!”
This was the first time that Xiaomi has officially announced a launch timeline for the Redmi K30.
All about Redmi K30 so far
The rumors started floating about the Redmi K30 series back in August, which was then confirmed by Weibing that the phone will have 5G connectivity.
Yet another earlier teaser from the Xiaomi executive states a punch-hole display on the Redmi K30. The phone is also having a dual front camera in the pill-shaped punch-hole housing.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun talk about the speculation of affordable Xiaomi phones with 5G support. On this, Jun said that all of Xiaomi’s phones released in the first half of 2020 for $285 or more will offer 5G connectivity.
In case the Redmi K30 has the same June release timeline as that of the K20 series (called Mi 9T in western markets), it’ll be one of those phones Jun’s has been talking about. But as per the earlier tease released by Xiaomi, the lunch window would probably be much earlier than June.
It was earlier teased that the K30 will not be the most affordable 5G phone out there, but it will not be too expensive either.
